Assistant Principal Yarborough

It is with great excitement and a sense of privilege that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal here at Ida Posner, P.S 165. I am honored to have the opportunity to assist in leading the P.S 165 community and becoming a part of the remarkable journey that your children will embark upon.

In the last decade I have served has a special education teacher in a many different facets including: a coach, IEP (individualized education plan) teacher, and content creator for special education companies. My educational philosophy is centered around the belief that every child can succeed when provided with the educational opportunities and strong support. I anticipate collaborating with our dedicated staff, students, and families to ensure that the students at P.S 165 receive high quality instruction in an inclusive nurturing learning environment.

As partnerships are essential for students’ overall success, I am eager to engage with you, the parents, and guardians to build life altering relationships. Your active participation, thoughts and feedback in your child’s education is invaluable. My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have. Together, we will create an environment where students thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

I am thrilled to meet each of you and become a part of the P.S 165 family. Please feel free to reach out to me at byarborough2@schools.nyc.gov or by calling the school’s office at  (718) 495-7759 to introduce yourself or discuss any concerns. Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming activities, events, meetings, opportunities to get involved. I look forward to celebrating our collective success this year.

Warm regards,

Briana Yarborough
